Social media influencer and actress Ashu Reddy has taken a major legal step by approaching the Telangana High Court to quash the recent FIR filed against her. The Hyderabad Central Crime Station had registered a massive cheating case involving ₹9.35 crore against the actress.  

The complaint was originally filed by the family of a UK-based software engineer, YV Dharmendra. They alleged that Ashu took huge amounts of money, gold, and luxury assets from him under the false pretext of marriage before eventually backing out. The controversy gained immense public attention after a private phone call, allegedly discussing a financial settlement, went viral across social media. 

Allegedly, she asked for Rs.1.5 crore settlement with Dharmendra stating that she would return this money in May and rest after settling in life. After the phone call was leaked, she went to court and filed a petition against FIR. In her petition to the High Court, Ashu Reddy argued that the police registered the case unilaterally without even recording her version of the events. 

She stated that the FIR was filed with the sole intention of damaging her public reputation. She has urged the court to stay the ongoing investigation and stop the police from taking any further action against her. Ashu had previously taken to social media to completely deny all the allegations, calling them false and misleading while warning against the spread of unverified information.
