According to insiders, Akhil Akkineni is now slated to feature in the forthcoming thriller Agent. The actor has been working hard to improve his body and look for the role. In the film, he will play the character of a spy. Mammootty, Malayalam megastar, will also play a key part in the film.

After months of speculations, the makers themselves confirmed the news through their social media handles. Sharing a poster featuring the Megastar, the team wrote on Twitter, "A Stalwart of Indian Cinema who paved his own path with Discipline & Dedication 🔥 Megastar @mammukka🤘Joins the shoot of #AGENT ⚡Can't wait to witness the magic on sets ❤️" 

In the poster, the actor can be seen in action as he holds a gun seemingly to attack his opponent. Mammootty looks as dashing as ever in a dark-colored outfit with a matching headgear. The poster's wording only vaguely defines his part in the film. "The Devil's Ruthless Saviour," it says. According to the poster, the actor has already begun filming on the film.

Mammootty's most recent blockbuster was 'Bheesha Paarvam.' The producers are considering a pan-India release and are casting actors and supporting parts accordingly. Surender Reddy directing this super espionage thriller. The story of Agent is written by Vakkantham Vamsi. The film is being co-produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under the banner AK Entertainments and Surender 2 cinema. This director-writer duo has previously collaborated for blockbusters like Kick and RaceGurram. The film Agent has the music from Hip Hop Tamizha and cinematography by Ragul Herian Dharuman.
