Updated : Apr 27, 2026

Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade will be sharing the screen for the first time in the upcoming socio-drama, The India Story. Directed by Chettan DK, the film takes a hard look at the dark reality of the agricultural sector, specifically focusing on the widespread misuse of chemicals and pesticide farming scandals.

Moving away from traditional commercial cinema, the storyline examines the broader public health crisis caused by industrial negligence. The film, also referred to as The India Story: Slow Poison in progress, sheds light on the lack of regulatory frameworks and questions the accountability of large corporations whose actions affect countless lives across the country.

Rather than a typical entertainer, the narrative offers a thought-provoking look at an environmental issue that has escalated into a human crisis. Produced and written by Sagar B Shinde under MIG Production & Studios, the project brings together a solid technical team, including cinematographer Nishant Bhagwat, editor Ashish Mhatre, and music director Mangesh Dhakde.

Presented as a Zee Studios Worldwide release, the film aims to spark conversations around systemic lapses and the urgent need for change. The India Story is slated for a theatrical release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil on July 24.
