Thalaivan Thalaivii starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nithya Menen, directed by Pandiraaj released on 25th July. The movie received a rousing reception from audiences. Post Maharaja, VJS got a huge opening for this film and in the weekend, it collected above Rs.35 crores. Reports suggest, the movie could collect Rs.30 crores share in TN. 

This is a huge gross for a Vijay Sethupathi film, as the actor has been struggling for many years at the box office. Maharaja changed that perception and Thalaivan Thalaivii has cemented his box office power as a star. His performance has been loved rigorously and families are watching the film in theatres, big time. 

Pandiraaj, who directed Kadakutty Singam, Namma Veettu Pillai has brought similar rural flavor to the forefront and it has become its biggest USP. With many characters in the film, still Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya stood out. Nithya Menen seems to be on a roll, and we have to wait and see, how Idly Kadai, does at the box office.
