Tamanna Bhatia and Power Soaps – The High Court ordered a soap manufacturer not to use actress Tamanna photographs to market its products since the contract period has expired in October. Tamanna filed her petition to Madras High Court said that she signed an agreement with Power Soaps Limited for a period of exactly one year from on October 7, 2008 for endorsing the company's products.

However, it was brought to Tamanna's notice that the Power Soaps company continued using her photographs on their commercials, particularly on the soap wrappers manufactured after the contract expiry date. Tamanna served legal notices to both Power Soaps Ltd and its agency J&D Communication Pvt. Ltd but could not get any proper response. As such, Tamanna moved to Court claiming a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the violation. Justice V Rama Subramanian ordered an interim stay till June 8, 2011, and asked the company not to use Tamanna photos in their marketing collateral.
