TFJA and TFDMA files complaint against Venu Swamy for?

The Telugu film industry is rallying against the invasive and unfounded predictions made by social media astrologer Venu Swamy about actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala. The Telugu Film Journalists Association (TFJA) and the Telugu Film Digital Media Association (TFDMA) have filed a joint complaint with the Telangana State Women’s Commission against Venu Swamy, a social media commentator known for his astrological pronouncements on film celebrities.

The complaint stems from a video where Venu Swamy analyzed the horoscopes of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala on their engagement day. In the video, Venu Swamy, despite lacking the necessary knowledge and ethical considerations, made predictions about their future, including their potential separation.

The associations condemned these comments as baseless and disrespectful, particularly highlighting the inappropriateness of making pronouncements about the personal lives of individuals, especially those concerning their relationships. They pointed out that Venu Swamy has a history of making similar controversial statements regarding movie releases and political results, further underscoring his disregard for responsible commentary.

Responding to the complaint, Telangana State Women’s Commission Chairperson Ms. Neerella Sharada assured the associations that action will be taken against Venu Swamy and the YouTube channels that aired his video. The Commission intends to summon Venu Swamy for an explanation. The TFJA and TFDMA are hopeful that this action will deter such irresponsible and unethical behavior in the future.

The delegation attending the meeting included,TFJA President Lakshinarayana, General Secretary YJ Rambabu,Treasurer Surendra Kumar Naidu, Members Prasadam Raghu, Lakshmi (V6), TFDMA President Premamalini Vanam, General Secretary Vedula Murthy, Members Suvarna and Tejaswini Sajja,Hyderabad Press Club Vice President Vanaja etc.

The complaint highlights a growing concern regarding the misuse of astrology and the ethical implications of making predictions about personal lives without proper knowledge and sensitivity. The Telugu film industry is united in its demand for accountability from social media platforms and their users. By standing together, the industry aims to create a safer and more respectful digital environment for all. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the responsibility that comes with public influence and the importance of upholding ethical standards in the digital age. As the investigation unfolds, the industry will continue to monitor the situation closely and advocate for stronger measures to protect the privacy and dignity of its members.
