Updated : Aug 5, 2026

Sundeep Kishan is set to reinvent himself with Karikala, an ambitious fantasy adventure that aims to transport audiences into a magical world of warriors, mythical creatures and epic battles. He seems to be highly inspired by Baahubali as he is going for two part release but with three to four months gap like Dhurandhar. The makers have unveiled the film's first look poster, offering the first glimpse into the scale and vision of director Ugandhar Muni, who impressed audiences with Shambala.

The poster presents Sundeep Kishan in a fierce warrior avatar, charging into battle on a majestic black horse while wielding a sword. Adding to the grandeur is a roaring lion running alongside him, hinting at a world where nature and mythology coexist. The dense forests, towering cliffs and mystical atmosphere reinforce the film's tagline, "A Magical World," suggesting that Karikala will be a fantasy spectacle rather than a conventional period drama.

One of the biggest announcements accompanying the first look is that Karikala will unfold across two chapters. Chapter 1 is scheduled to hit theatres on July 2, 2027, while Chapter 2 will follow on October 28, 2027. While the movie poster looks like it is attempting a warrior story like Baahubali with period action, the two part release is planned like Dhurandhar with four month gap, only.

Directed by Ugandhar Muni and produced by Mahidhar Reddy and Rajasekhar Annabhimoju under the Shining Pictures banner, Karikala appears to be one of the most ambitious projects in Sundeep Kishan's career. With its striking first look, fantasy setting and two-part storytelling format, the film has already generated curiosity among movie lovers eager to see the actor in a completely new avatar.
