The 90th birth anniversary of the legendary actress Savitri was celebrated with a grand Savitri Mahotsavam in Hyderabad. Organized by her daughter, Vijaya Chamundeshwari, and the Sangam Foundation, the event saw former Vice President of India, Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, lighting the inaugural lamp.

In his tribute, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu highlighted Savitri’s enduring legacy, stating she has not passed away but continues to mesmerize audiences. He made a powerful distinction about her dedication to acting, noting that "Savitri is not seen on screen except the role," emphasizing her complete immersion into every character. MLA Mandali Buddhaprasad, who presided over the function, hailed Savitri as a "textbook on acting" and the true 'Mahanati' of the film industry.

The ceremony included the felicitation of the Mahanati film producers, Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt, writer Sanjay Kishore, and publisher Bollineni Krishnayya. The cultural program featured 90 child singers performing Savitri's songs and the screening of award-winning documentaries.

The event, supervised by Sanjay Kishore, was attended by several film personalities, including Murali Mohan and Tanikella Bharani, honoring the irreplaceable icon of Indian cinema.
