There were rumours that Rajamouli was working on a multi-starrer with Mahesh Babu's SSMB29. Nandamuri Balakrishna is also said to have a significant role in the film.

This news infuriated Mahesh's fans, who took to social media to urge their hero not to accept the multi-starrer offer.

In addition, while speaking at one of RRR's promotional events in Bengaluru today, Rajamouli gave a major update on his next project with Mahesh Babu.

“My next with Mahesh Babu is not a multistarrer. It is a solo hero film,” Rajamouli stated, much to the delight of Mahesh’s fans. 

Mahesh's fans were opposed to the multi-starrer prospect because it would mean that the story would focus on two heroes rather than one, and credit for success would be shared.

Now that Rajamouli has confirmed that Mahesh's film will not star a cast of multiple actors, the latter's fans can breathe a sigh of relief. In addition, Mahesh's long-held dream of working with Rajamouli becomes a reality with the same.
