Updated : Jun 13, 2026

Days after facing intense backlash over the viral “Rs 370 biryani” clip, comedian Pranit More has returned with another public apology, admitting that he failed to handle the situation responsibly and was carried away in the moment.

The controversy began after a crowd interaction from one of More’s comedy shows spread online. During the exchange, an audience member made remarks that many viewers criticised as misogynistic and inappropriate, triggering wider conversations around consent, comedy and platform responsibility.

The backlash quickly moved beyond social media and turned into a larger debate about where comedians draw the line during crowd work. In his latest video statement, Pranit acknowledged that he should have intervened instead of allowing the moment to continue.

He said the audience reaction affected his judgment and added that he understood the criticism directed at him, even stating that he deserved the anger coming his way. The issue has since attracted attention from authorities, with reports of official scrutiny and continued public discussion around accountability in live comedy formats.
