Praneeth Hanumanthu to Chanchalguda Jail 14 days remand

The recent controversy over offensive comments on a 'father-daughter' relationship by social media influencer Praneeth Hanumanthu has highlighted the darker side of social media.

While everyone from celebrities to politicians condemned the disgusting comments, the incident also shed light on the safety of children online. Acting swiftly on the highly condemnable live stream, the Telangana Police filed a case against the infamous social media influencer.

Yesterday police arrested Praneeth Hanumanthu in Bangalore, Telangana cybercrime police. He brought to Hyderabad and police presented the accused in Hyderabad court today. Nampally court has been remanded Praneeth Hanumanthu to Chanchalguda Jail for 14 days.

Four sections have been filed against Praneeth: Section 67B of the IT Act (Information Technology Act), POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act), Section 79 of the IT Act, Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Netizens are feeling happy that Praneeth arrested.
