Updated : Sep 10, 2025

Nayanthara has released her wedding documentary as Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale on Netflix. Tarc Studios has produced the documentary and it released in November 2024. Since the release, the documentary has been facing legal issues with Dhanush's Wunderbar films claiming damages for using Naanum Rowdy Thaan clips without NOC.

While Dhanush agreed for Vetrimaaran to use Vada Chennai characters and Universe without claiming huge amounts for NOC, he did not show similar consideration towards Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivn. On the other hand, Chandramukhi film rights holders - AB International have also gone to Madras High Court against using clips.

They have stated that they need to paid Rs.5 crores in damages and Tarc Studios should share the profit balance sheet with them for the documentary. The issue has gone to Court and the Justice has ordered Tarc Studios to submit their formal reply in an affidavit to court by 6th October.

AB International's Counsel has asked Justice to not give Tarc Studios too much of time as the issue is being dragged with malicious intent. They have claimed that since the last year, they did not receive any reply from concerned parties even after serving notices. One wedding documentary has pushed Nayanthara into legal slump.
