Initially, makers planned to stream the film in two major OTT platforms Aha and Amazon prime. In a shocking turn of events, Naresh's ex-wife, Ramya Raghupathi, has approached the court to halt the release of 'Malli Pelli' in both OTT platforms. Ramya alleges that the movie intends to defame her character.

Amazon prime video didn't released the film on its OTT platform but Aha is streaming the film on the OTT platform.The film attracted a lot of interest from viewers, and now thier only chance to catch the film is Aha.

The movie is heavily inspired from the real life incidents of Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh. Malli Pelli stars Jayasudha, Sarathbabu, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Ananya Nagalla, and Madhoo in important roles. The film is directed by MS Raju and produced by Naresh.
