Nag Ashwin was born in Hyderabad on April 23, 1986. Nag Ashwin has been interested in the fine arts since he was a child. Hyderabad Public School is where he received his education. He holds a Bachelor degree in Mass Communication from MIC Manipal and has taken film directing course at the New York Film Academy.

Nag Ashwin began his career as an assistant director with 'Nenu Meeku Telusa?' starring Manchu Manoj. Nag Ashwin later worked with Shekhar Kammula for 'Leader' and 'Life is Beautiful.'

Nag Ashwin made his directorial debut with Nani's 'Yevade Subramanyam.' Under the banner of Swapna Cinema, Priyanka and her sister Swapna co-produced 'Evade Subramanyam.' With this film, Nag Ashwin proved himself as a talented filmmaker.

Nag Ashwin wanted to make a film on Mahanti 'Savitri,' the woman who ruled Indian cinema. This production was bankrolled by Swapna Cinemas, and Keerthy Suresh played the iconic role of Savitri in Mahanati. With this film, Nag Ashwin's name resonated throughout India.

Keerthy Suresh received best actress in the national awards for her outstanding performance in 'Mahanati.' 'Mahanati' also received the National award for Best Regional Film.

Nag Ashwin, who has only directed two films, is going to direct a massive pan-India film starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. Project K is a mythological science fiction story, and Nag Ashwin is confident that it will be a game changer.
