Updated : Apr 8, 2011

The AP Film Federation would go on an indefinite strike and as a result, the all the movie shootings would come to a grinding halt. Previously, members of the AP Cine Employees Federation decided not take part in the movie shootings, which means the employees belonging to all the 24 crafts will not participate in the movie shootings.

It seems that the the Federation employees previously demanded for a hike in their pay packet, but they could not get any update on this. The employees who went outdoors for shooting would participate in the strike from Monday.

Reacting to the federation strike, the Producers Council said that they can pay wages to the federation workers as per South Indian Film standards and cannot agree to federation demands of hike in the wage structure. Further, if the Producers Council hikes the pay, then every producer has to additionally bear a cost of Rs. 3 to 4 crores for his movie. Federation workers lament that the Producers Council pays crores of rupees for hero and heroine remuneration and they deny when we request and how far is this justified!
