Mani Ratnam Says, Without Baahubali there is no Ponniyin Selvan

The makers of the magnum opus film Ponniyin Selvan 2 are gearing up for the mega release of the period drama on April 28th. The team is busy with the promotions for the film. The songs and trailer impressed everyone. Now, the whole team attended the Telugu pre release event in Hyderabad. Dilraju, Vijayendra Prasad also attended the event.

The whole team thanked Mani Ratnam and producer Subaskaran for making this great film. Shared cute and heartfelt moments with the other actors in this Multistarrer. The whole team is all praises for the support, love and energy of Telugu audience for cinema.

The ace director begins his speech at the event thanking SS Rajamouli and Megastar Chiranjeevi. He said “I want to thank SS Rajamouli. If Baahubali was not made in two parts, then Ponniyin Selvan would not have been made. So we all owe him a big thanks. I’ve called him, I’ve met him and I’ve told him this.

I want to say it here that Baahubali created a path for me to mount Ponniyin Selvan in 2 parts and give confidence to the entire industry to do historical films. I think he has opened a huge passage for a lot of Indian history to be converted to films. And also thanks to Megastar Chiranjeevi garu for lending voice for both parts.

He added "Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Shobhita, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Thota Tarani, Sreekar Prasad, and Rahman were all part of a fantastic team. Only because of their help was I able to make this film great. The audience will undoubtedly enjoy PS2 when it is released in theatres on April 28."
