Following the disaster of Valimai, Ajith reunited with H Vinoth for a heist thriller. Previously, it was reported that shooting for the film, tentatively named 'AK 61,' has commenced in Hyderabad.

According to sources, Manju Warrier, a Malayalam actress, would also appear in the film. According to the Times of India, Manju Warrier will play a significant role in AK61. The actress is set to join the team in the coming days. However, no formal explanation has been given. This would be Manju Warrier's second Tamil film following Vetrimaran's Asuran.

According to sources, AK61 is a film about a robbery. The thriller is currently being shot in Hyderabad.

AK 61 marks Ajith's reunion with H Vinoth after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai.  Boney Kapoor, who produced the actor-director duo's previous two films, is backing this one as well. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer and it is speculated that Ghibran will be composing the music.
