In a recent interview to DC, Madhu said she doesn’t believe in taking up projects because she has to, and that she has other interests, which keep her going.

While not doing films, actress Madhu Shalini has other interests which will keep her going, she says. While she is getting ready to showcase her talents opposite legendary Kamal Haasan in "Cheekati Rajyam" soon, here is an unseen side of her. Along with a group of others, she started association with "Save Temples Organisation", where they collect money and reconstruct, refurbish old temples.

"We collect funds from people who are willing to donate for the welfare of temples. Across the country and around 10 temples have been refurbished in 2014", says Madhu Shalini.
