Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, Sandy Master has turned out to be Industry Hit for Malayalam Cinema. The movie has grossed Rs.299 crores at the worldwide box office, till date, and it is highest for any Malayalam Cinema. Now, it dethroned Thudarum at Kerala State Box Office, as well. 


It is inching towards revered 300 crore mark, a first for Malayalam Cinema, ever. Mohanlal's Thudarum recently in Summer season this year and while it collected Rs.235 crores worldwide, it created history, by becoming the first Malayalam Film to collect Rs.100 crores in Kerala State. 


The movie went on to collect Rs.118.7 crores gross in the state. Lokah with its huge long run at the box office, has collected Rs.119.25 crores gross in Kerala state and became the no.1 grosser in the state, too. It even dethroned Manjummel Boys with 175 crores crores gross in India. 


Lokah becomes the first female lead superhero film in Indian Cinema to collect such staggering numbers. The hype and buzz for Lokah 2 featuring Tovino Thomas in leading role with Dulquer Salmaan confirmed to appear in a cameo and Kalyani Priyadarshan also set for an appearance, have reached sky high. 


Malayalam trade is predicting the second film to achieve even the Rs.350 and Rs.400 crores gross marks, if the content lives up to the hype.
