Updated : Dec 17, 2025

ANR always believed that education was the greatest gift one could give. Whether it was advising his family or donating to the youth, his heart was always set on empowering the next generation. It was this very passion that led to the founding of the ANR College in Gudivada, fueled by his initial visionary donation.

Walking in their father's footsteps, Nagarjuna and Naga Susheela graced the college grounds recently to honor that history. Nagarjuna inaugurated the college’s new building and paid homage to his father ANR at Diamond Jubilee Celebrations with huge donation. In 1959, ANR donated Rs.1 Lakh for the college.

Now, Nagarjuna honoring great man's legacy, on behalf of the family announced a Rs. 2 Crore scholarship for the students. Emphasizing that this was a collective gift from the entire Akkineni clan, the gesture has sparked a wave of admiration across the Telugu states, proving that legends' kindness remains eternal.

The event was attended by prominent personalities, including Naga Susheela, Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu, and was marked by enthusiasm as Nagarjuna’s contribution highlighted the college’s commitment to education and social welfare. Established in 1950, the college welcomed this generous donation with appreciation.
