Updated : Apr 29, 2026

Producer Chiranjeevi, fondly known as Cherry, recently interacted with the media to share details about his upcoming comedy-thriller Jet Lee. Directed by Ritesh Rana, the film features comedian Satya in the lead role and marks the Telugu debut of Miss Universe India Rhea Singha. It is produced by Clap Entertainment and presented by Mythri Movie Makers, with a theatrical release scheduled for May 1.

During the interview, Cherry revealed that nearly 80 percent of the film takes place inside a flight, which is a new setting for the Telugu film industry. Interestingly, the script was originally developed as a serious thriller meant for a regular mainstream hero. However, as the story evolved, director Ritesh Rana reworked it into a comedy-thriller to better suit actors with good comic timing. Satya, who was initially hesitant about playing the lead, agreed after hearing the complete narration.

Cherry mentioned that while Mythri Movie Makers focuses on large-scale projects, he personally enjoys producing concept-based films with manageable risk. He expressed confidence in the final output of 'Jet Lee', stating that the comedy and the storyline work well together. Looking ahead, Cherry also confirmed upcoming projects, including a horror film with Ritesh Rana and Mathu Vadalara 3.
