In celebration of 50 golden years of Aswini Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies, let’s relive the magic of Indra with a grand re-release on August 22nd, in honour of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s birthday. The film directed by B Gopal completes 22 years, after its release. Indra was released on July 24th in 2002 and it ended up as an Industry hit. Not just that, Indra was the Highest Grossing South Indian movie.

The film Indra won three state Nandi Awards and two Filmfare Awards South with Chiranjeevi winning both the Nandi Award for Best Actor and the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu.

Vyjayanthi Movies delivered several blockbusters with Chiranjeevi and Indra will remain to be one of the most memorable for the banner. The movie had cinematography by VSR Swamy, while Mani Sharma provided a chartbuster album.

The movie starred Aarthi Agarwal and Sonali Bendre playing the heroines opposite Chiranjeevi.
