Dhanush as legend Ilaiyaraaja First Look out now?

The biopic of legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja has been in the headlines since after it was announced. We've reported that the work on the biopic will soon commence as Dhanush has been roped in to play the lead characters. 

Today the film officially launched in Chennai and a poster announcement has dropped. The event was spectacular with the attendance bug names from the industry. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, Ilaiyaraaja, Dhanush and lot of others attended the event.

Dhanush was seen in his iconic traditional outfit while Ulaganayagan opted for a shirt-pant that made him look elegant. The music maestro wore a dhoti kurta along with a shawl.

The film titled Ilaiyaraaja will be helmed by Arun Matheswaran. The music will be scored by Ilaiyaraaja himself. At the event, Dhanush said I desired to act in only 2 biopics which are Ilaiyaraaja and superstar Rajinikanth biopics. One of that is happening now."

He added, "Many are saying it's a challenge for me to act in #Ilaiyaraaja sir biopic, but I don't think so. Because his music will tell me how to act like him."

Kamal Haasan said, "This is not Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja biopic, this is Bharat Ratna Ilaiyaraaja biopic. It’s not our wish but demand."

The cinematography will be handled by Nirav Shah. The film will be bankrolled under the Conekkt Media, PK Prime Production and Mercuri Movies.
