Right from the time her horror-comedy Geethanjali had become a big hit, actress Anjali has been the toast of the town. Anjali had recently signed up for another film to be directed by Ashok of Pilla Zamindar fame, and the grapevine was that Anjali had replaced Anushka in Bhagmati. The director’s men said that Bhagmati with Anushka in the lead is still on schedule while Anjali has been taken for another film with fresh script and there is no such question of one actress replacing the other. The confusion was seen since Ashok is the director of both the films. Anjali's film is reportedly titled Chitrangada, again a female-centric film like Bhagmati.
