Home  »  Gossip  »  Will Mahesh Babu Try A Sports Drama After Varanasi?

Updated : Jun 18, 2026

Mahesh Babu is currently fully focused on Varanasi and the actor has not accepted any new film yet. But that has not stopped industry gossip from beginning discussions around what kind of film he could choose next.

According to trade chatter, Mahesh is said to be interested in trying a sports drama with an intriguing storyline after completing his current commitment. However, there is no confirmation about any narration being locked or the actor committing to a project.

Interestingly, reports also suggest that Mahesh could consider collaborations with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prashanth Neel depending on how schedules and development shape up in the coming months. At the same time, the stronger industry talk remains that Mahesh is in no hurry to announce his next.

Reports indicate that the actor wants to wait and see how Varanasi performs globally before taking a call on the direction of his immediate future lineup. For now, the sports drama discussion remains industry gossip. But if it turns true, it could mark a genre space Mahesh has not fully explored at this scale before.
