Suriya is one of the biggest stars of Tamil Cinema and he has huge craze in Telugu and Malayalam languages. He has been facing major crisis at the box office from past decade. He is currently working in Venky Atluri's direction for his first Telugu-Tamil bilingual, produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. 

He completed shooting for his massive biggie, Karuppu, in the direction of RJ Balaji. The movie is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and many anticipated it to release for Diwali. But the recent reports from Tamil Cinema state that the movie is being postponed to next year, either Pongal or Summer. 

The financial issues have been so prominent that the producers are working to clear the debts. Also, as Suriya's previous films, Kanguva and Retro, ended up being unsuccessful leaving distributors in huge losses, the problem for Karuppu have also grown prominent. Even Dream Warrior Pictures are facing some cash crunch, say reports. 

Well, Karuppu teaser did not really impress many and it seemed like a regular mass commercial film. Hence, the makers are not highly confident they want a solo release date and time to build huge promotional campaign to create hype, say reports.
