Jacqueline Fernandez has moved to Supreme Court to quash the Rs.215 crore money laundering case against her. She requested the apex court to take in consideration her innocence about Sukesh Chandrasekhar's criminal activities. She stated that she accepted gifts from a friend and nothing much.
Bench consisting of Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice AG Masih heard the arguments of the actress and decided to dismiss the quash petition. They did her leeway to appeal to Special Court before framing charges against her in the case.
Supreme Court order reads, "Dismissed with liberty to approach the Court. The observations made in the impugned judgment were only for the purpose of disposing of the petition. At the time of framing of charges, the special court shall be at liberty to hear the petitioner and pass the order."
Well, Jacqueline Fernandez received gifts amounting to crores from Sukesh and the later had been charged in money laundering case. Hence, ED charged even Jacqueline as part of his scheme. Now, Supreme Court has given the right for the actress to appeal to Special Court to not frame charges against her in the case.
