Akshay Kumar interacted with a huge news network and he talked about different aspects in Indian Cinema. He did not agree with Aamir Khan's comments about OTT window. He stated that OTT platforms spend huge amount on digital rights and they should be given a fair treatment.
Aamir Khan mentioned that producers should think about six months OTT gap to increase the footfalls in theatres. He stated that films like Laapataa Ladies and Sitaare Zameen Par would have highly benefitted from such gap. At the same time, he acknowledged that OTT releases does help good movies to get wider reach.
Akshay Kumar had different outlook and he stated that 3 month gap would be good rather than just 6-8 weeks gap. He stated that he does take a good chunk of amount from digital rights and he stated that it is big amount. He stated that they should be given fair deal.
He also acknowledged that producers need to understand that good content will find audiences rather than underwhelming films. He stated that producers and actors need to understand how script is more important than assembling projects. His Jolly LLB 3 released recently but it did not live up to expectations.
