Ranbir Kapoor seems to have played an unexpected role in Prabhas’ Spirit securing the Diwali 2027 release. According to a report, the Ramayana actor tipped off his Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga about the part 2 of Ramayana likely postponement, allowing the filmmaker to move quickly and lock the lucrative festive slot.
The report claims that Ranbir informed Vanga after learning that Ramayana 2 would require additional time. Vanga subsequently decided to bring Spirit to the Diwali 2027 window, with producer Bhushan Kumar backing the move. The alleged conversation is particularly interesting given Ranbir and Vanga’s association.

Meanwhile, Ramayana 2, featuring Ranbir as Lord Rama and Yash as Ravana, is reportedly being pushed to Diwali 2028. The sequel is said to require more shooting time, particularly for its ambitious war sequences. However, the makers have yet to officially confirm the reported postponement.
Vanga has announced October 29, 2027, as the worldwide theatrical release date for Spirit, which stars Prabhas alongside Triptii Dimri. The film was initially scheduled for March 5, 2027, before moving to the festive window. While the reports claim postponement of Ramayana 2, makers did not confirm it yet.
