Kamal Haasan is reportedly considering a change in the release plans for Dharman, the Rajinikanth-starrer being produced by him. According to Tamil media reports, the actor-producer is exploring April 30 as a possible release date, as discussions continue over the release of Indian 3.
Rajinikanth is said to have agreed to work in Kamal Haasan’s production as a gesture to his longtime friend. Reports suggest that the Superstar wants the film to emerge as a huge blockbuster, with the team working towards completing the shoot by the end of November to target a Pongal release.
However, Indian 3 could also benefit from the Pongal holiday season, prompting Lyca Productions to reportedly request Kamal Haasan to consider the film’s release plans. With the two projects potentially looking at the same festive window, a change in the schedule of Dharman is said to be under discussion.

Indian 2 became a huge box office bomb and it is described as first mega disaster for Shankar. While I, 2.0 reported losses, they had major openings and 2.0 did recover in Tamil Nadu to an extent. Still, it is the highest ever grosser for a Tamil film. As Game Changer too ended up being even bigger disaster than Indian 2, Shankar needs Indian 3 to re-establish his market value. Even Kamal Haasan described in one of his interviews that he loved Indian 3 more than Indian 2.
But reports have been consistently stating that Shankar demanded Rs.50 crores to complete the remaining shooting and post-production works while Lyca is facing tremendous monetary issues. On top of it, Kamal is not keen to join the film, due to his disparities with producer says reports.
Lyca Productions have spent a fortune, almost Rs.450 crores on the two-part film and they are hoping to minimise losses with Indian 3 release. Considering all these factors, Kamal Haasan is in talks with the production house and also distributors about the plan going ahead, suggest reports.
