Karthi's much-awaited Marshal has been in the news for its prolonged delay, and the latest buzz from Kollywood circles suggests that financial hurdles could be one of the key reasons behind the film's slow progress. Kalyani Priyadarshan accepted to be part of the film post her Lokah Industry Hit success. 

According to industry grapevine, Dream Warrior Pictures is reportedly facing financial pressure despite the blockbuster success of Karuppu. The speculation is that a portion of the theatrical share from the previous release is yet to reach the production house, with reports claiming that certain theatre owners have allegedly withheld around Rs.30 crore share due to unresolved financial disputes from earlier business dealings.

While there has been no official confirmation from either the producers or exhibitors, the ongoing uncertainty is said to have impacted the production timeline of Marshal. With the project remaining on hold, Karthi has reportedly shifted his focus to his next film, which will be directed by Mohan Raja and produced by Prince Pictures. The official announcement has been made about the film, recently. 

Industry insiders further claim that Marshall has not been shelved. Instead, the makers are said to be planning to resume production once the financial issues are sorted out. There is also speculation that the ambitious project could eventually be released as a two-part film, allowing the makers to realize its intended scale.
