Akhil Akkineni in the race for Anil Ravipudi next?

on Jan 22, 2026

Anil Ravipudi is one of the most sought after directors in Telugu Cinema has he delivered 9 out 9 hits till date. And his recent two films - Sankrantiki Vasthunnam and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, have been huge grossers despite being regional films and that too with Senior stars like Venkatesh and Chiranjeevi.

He interacted with media today and stated that his 10th film will also release for Sankranti 2027. He won't leave the slot and will begin with announcement promotions, pretty soon. Currently, huge speculations are going on about his next film as he is on a red hot hit streak. Akhil Akkineni could be in the race say new reports.

Simultaneously, reports indicate that Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh are also being considered for this festival entertainer. Given Ravipudi's history of delivering blockbusters with senior stars like Venkatesh and Chiranjeevi, the possibility of a collaboration with PSPK or a reunion with "Venky Mama" remains strong.

While Pawan Kalyan fans hope that a film with Anil Ravipudi will settle all box office scores, they are skeptical about PSPK giving his full-time for a demanding director like Anil Ravipudi. On the other hand, Venkatesh needs to finish Adarsha Kutumbam in Trivikram Srinivas direction to think about his next.

Akhil Akkineni post Lenin, which is slated for 1st May 2026 release, could be looking for a huge blockbuster for Sankranti season which helped his father Nagarjuna - Soggade Chinni Nayana and brother Naga Chaitanya - Bangarraju, to re-establish themselves at the box office. Let's wait for official confirmation.
