SRK King musical rights yields huge price

Oct 31, 2026 6:43PM

In a major music rights deal, T-Series has acquired exclusive global commercial music rights for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming action spectacle King for a period of 50 years. The agreement has been facilitated by Red Chillies Entertainment through Zee Music Company, giving T-Series long-term control over the film's musical assets worldwide.

The deal covers the film's songs, music videos and associated publishing interests, putting an end to speculation about a shorter licensing arrangement. A T-Series spokesperson clarified that it is not a temporary licensing deal but a 50-year exclusive commercial arrangement, covering every song and music video associated with the film.

King's soundtrack is already generating curiosity, with Sachin-Jigar composing the songs and Anirudh Ravichander handling the background score. The film is also expected to feature a musical collaboration between Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh, adding another major attraction to its music album.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King stars Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. The film marks the first time Shah Rukh and his daughter Suhana will share screen space. Positioned as a major Christmas theatrical release, the film's music rights acquisition further highlights the commercial scale surrounding this ambitious project.
