Karan Johar is ready to bring Koffee With Karan back, but this time, the filmmaker will be serving his final cup. The popular celebrity chat show will return with its ninth season on JioHotstar from October 14, and Karan has confirmed that this will be the last season of the show.

Karan made the announcement through an emotional promo, looking back at a journey that began in 2004. He recalled how he discussed the idea of a celebrity chat show with his father Yash Johar before his demise and eventually shot the first episode in August that year. The show has since completed eight seasons and 161 episodes, with its conversations, rapid-fire rounds and celebrity revelations frequently becoming talking points beyond the show itself.

The ninth season is expected to bring another interesting mix of celebrities before the show signs off. Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt are reportedly set to appear together, marking Shaheen’s first appearance on the couch. Several other names have also been linked to the season, including Salman Khan, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, though not all reported guest combinations have been officially confirmed.

After more than two decades, Koffee With Karan is now heading towards its final season. Karan’s announcement makes Season 9 less about simply returning to the couch and more about closing one of Indian entertainment’s longest-running celebrity chat-show formats.
