Actor and entrepreneur John Abraham has joined the Indian Superbike League (ISBL) as its strategic advisor, bringing his passion for motorcycles and experience in sports ownership to an initiative aimed at building a professional racing ecosystem in India.
The league has also unveiled a promotional film introducing its vision of combining motorsport with entertainment and pop culture. Sanctioned by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), ISBL will follow a franchise-based format featuring two professional categories alongside amateur, female riders and rookie classes.

John said his association with the league brings together his long-standing interest in motorcycles and his experience as a sports team owner. He added that he wants to help young Indian riders access better opportunities while bringing motorcycle racing to a wider audience. “It’s time to Get India Racing,” he said.
ISBL CEO Pranav Bakre said the project was personal to him, given his family’s long association with racing, and expressed his ambition to create opportunities for the next generation. The league also aims to build opportunities beyond riders, including teams, technical personnel, brands and creators. Further details about participating teams, riders, race formats and venues are expected to be announced later.
