A fire incident at Mumbai’s Film City created a scare on Monday, with reports initially suggesting that the blaze broke out on the sets of Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana. However, the latest reports and clarification from the film’s team state that the major fire seen in the viral visuals did not occur on the actual Ramayana set.

The incident took place at a temporary shooting structure behind Prime Focus Studio in Goregaon. According to officials, the fire was reported at around 4:02 PM and was brought under control within about 50 minutes. The blaze was classified as a Level-I fire, with the affected structure housing electrical wiring, cables, wooden and bamboo material, air-conditioning units and shooting equipment. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.

There was some confusion after videos of the fire surfaced online, with the visuals being linked to Ramayana, which is currently being shot in the same Film City premises. Reports later clarified that the fire was outside the sets of Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 and near the MTV Hustle 5 location, while the Ramayana team has denied that the viral blaze happened on its set.

The incident comes as the Ramayana team is working on the highly anticipated epic starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. With the film mounted on a massive scale, the fire incident has naturally raised concerns about safety at Film City. The movie first part shoot has been completed while second part scheduled for Diwali 2027 is in progress. The first part will release for Diwali and it is produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash.
