SRK's Pathaan started Spy universe and WAR 2 collapsed it?

on Nov 3, 2025

Shah Rukh Khan has waited patiently to re-discover his image as an action star with Pathaan, after his romance dramas - Jab Harry Met Sejal and Zero, ended up being disasters. It took 5 years for him to make an epic comeback after Zero, and Pathaan's Rs.1000 crores box office success, made Aditya Chopra start Spy Universe.

Yash Raj Films have decided to unite Tiger, Pathaan and WAR film characters as they have SRK, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan kind of big stars coming together. They have decided to expand WAR 2, Alpha introducing new characters as well into the Spy Universe expanding it further.

Tiger 3 failed miserably at the box office to carry the universe forward but YRF thought with WAR 2 having Jr. NTR in another lead role, the Universe will be expanding market in South Indian language too. Unfortunately, the movie became biggest disaster for Hindi and Indian Cinema.

Now, YRF had to postpone Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh starrer Alpha with Bobby Deol in a prominent role had to be postponed from December 2025 to April 16, 2026. While this could be a logistical decision due to delays in VFX work but inside reports suggest that YRF is desperate to find some respite to take forward the Universe.

Hence, they are serious about Alpha being a rejuvenator for Universe to proceed with plans to rope in SRK again in Pathaan 2 or other such big action films. Majority of audiences on social media are commenting that WAR 2 has ended the YRF Spy Universe for good.
