Rohit Shetty Firing Case: Lawrence Bishnoi gang involved
on Feb 2, 2026

In a chilling escalation of gang-related threats against the film industry, the quiet of Juhu’s Road Number 10 was shattered in the early hours of Sunday, February 1st, as unidentified assailants opened fire at filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence. The incident occurred around 12:45 AM at Shetty Towers, where the director was reportedly resting on the seventh floor.
A lone shooter, clad in a black jacket and white trousers, fired five rounds from a pistol-like firearm near the compound wall. While the bullets struck the first-floor walls and shattered a glass pane in the building’s gym, Rohit Shetty narrowly escaped injury. The investigation moved at lightning speed, leading to the detention of five suspects in Pune just hours after the attack.
Identified as Aman Marote, Aditya Gayaki, Siddharth Yenpure, Samarth Pomaji, and Swapnil Sakat, the group includes daily-wage laborers and drivers with no prior criminal records. However, Mumbai Police have uncovered a sophisticated network behind the logistics. The shooter reached the spot on a Honda Dio scooter, which was purchased just days earlier from Pune and left at a pre-arranged location in Juhu under the direct instructions of Shubham Lonkar, a key associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang also linked to the Baba Siddique murder.
The Bishnoi gang has since taken responsibility for the attack via a viral social media post, describing it as a "trailer" and warning Shetty to stop "interfering" in their work. The message specifically cited the filmmaker's recent presence at events alongside former police commissioner Rakesh Maria as a point of contention.
In response, a massive two-tier security blanket has been thrown over Shetty and his upcoming projects. Nearly 60 security personnel will now guard the sets of his next film, Golmaal 5, while production on his Rakesh Maria biopic has been temporarily stalled to reassess safety protocols.
