Fatima Sana Shaikh, the Dangal actress, has brought the casting couch debate once again. Several Bollywood actresses have stated that they faced casting couch in South Indian Films. Fatima also reiterated that stating that a producer asked her repeatedly, "If she is ready to do anything for the film." 

She stated that she played innocent for him to state outright what he is expecting. She expressed surprise in how explicitly they state yet try to be indirect. She also revealed that she did not fall prey to such predators and did not accept the offer. Fatima also stated that casting agents do exploit naive youngsters in Mumbai.

She revealed that getting into films for any young girl has been made difficult by some predators and actresses have to navigate them to make a name for themselves. Finally, she concluded that such practices should be eradicated in every profession. She also stated that producers take a "cut" from remuneration for referring them. 

Currently, she is working in Metro... In Dino. She did work in a Telugu film, way back in 2015, before Dangal, as Shruti in Nuvvu Nenu Okkatavudam. After playing Indira Gandhi in Sam Bahadur, she has even more challening roles coming up.
