Netflix has been one of the most active OTT platforms buying big films from Indian Cinema. Now, they have a huge line-up for 2025 and 2026 will also be locked soon. Apparently, they have been key in pushing Thalapathy Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, from 2025 to 2026 release, it seems. 

Makers announced October 2025 release for Jana Nayagan during Pooja ceremony. But now, the rumors suggest that to help 2026 election time, the movie is eyeing for Pongal release. Inside reports suggest that not just election time advantage but even Netflix has been key in taking this decision for KVN Productions, the producer. 

Netflix are known for locking their content release schedules long before and they have stated that Vijay's Jana Nayagan can only be slotted for 2026 and not 2025 as all are fixed. So, they have asked makers to consider 2026 release and only then, they can pay the quoted amount. 

As it is huge and other OTT platforms did not show same interest in buying film rights for that huge amount, they have accepted the offer. Delay also helps Vijay to plan his political activities while shooting also, it seems. Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol are playing prominent roles in this H. Vinoth directorial.
