Aamir Khan delivered a huge blockbuster with Dangal and it became biggest grosser ever in Indian Cinema. The movie performed huge at China but Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2 remain biggest grossers in Indian markets. He could not deliver blockbusters with his next films - Thugs of Hindostan and Lal Singh Chaddha. 

But his next films have huge anticipation and the actor is working on Sitaare Zameen Par, an ideological sequel for Taare Zameen Par and remake of Spanish film, Champeons. In a recent interview, he revealed his plans to start Mahabharat series of films and he stated that the shoot will start this year. 

He also stated that the films will be shot at a stretch like Lord of the Rings and how many films will be made will be announced with cast. He also stated that each part will have different directors and scripting, pre-viz works have been going on. 

Baahubali director SS Rajamouli did announce that Mahabharat is his life-time dream and he will spend at least 10 years to make them as he cannot imagine making the entire story in one film. Well, Aamir Khan is ready to take the next step to make this film but Rajamouli needs to complete SSRMB, with Mahesh Babu, first. 

Also, several reports suggest that he is looking to collaborate with Hollywood studios going forward. When will he start the pre-production works and when will he bring his vision to life, we can't say, in fact, maybe he cannot too. For now though, Aamir Khan has started the race to finishing line. 

Well, Indian mythological epic Mahabharat based TV serials have been telecast on Indian Television on almost daily basis. So, will these films have the X-factor to draw audiences to the theatres even if they attach such big names. Let's wait and watch.
