Telangana Shakuntala Died: Sad news for the Telugu Film Industry as it has lost another brilliant character artist -Telangana Shakuntala. Known to be a heart patient she had previously suffered an attack and had cut down on her film assignments quite a bit. She was taken to the Narayana Hrudayala Hospitals at Suraram  in the night after suffering  from pain in the chest , but was declared dead on arrival due to a massive cardiac arrest. Sixty three year old Shakuntala is survived by a son and daughter. Originally a theater artist , she had acted in many plays before making her entry into films with Maa Bhumi in 1981. She has acted in over 70 films  and was last seen in Paandavulu Paandavulu Thummeda in the beginning of 2014.

 

She gained popularity because of her Telangana slang  and her roles in people centric films which dealt with naxalism , she was nicknamed Telangana Shakuntala for her excellent diction and went on to act in many genres of acting like comedy, negative roles , as a mother ,grandmother , aunt etc.
