Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is one of the finest actors in India. While many young heroes are hesitating to do at least two films a year, Mohanlal had four releases this year. While the trilingual Manamantha was a debacle in all the languages, other films he featured in such as Oppam, Pulimurugan and Janatha Garage were blockbusters.

Mohanlal’s last outing Pulimurugan which was released in Telugu as Manyam Puli is turning out to be a profit maker for Telugu producers. The Malayalam producers sold the Telugu rights for Rs 1 crores, though half of shares should be given to them as per the deal.

The back to back hits of Janatha Garage and Manyam Puli enthused Telugu producers of Mohanlal’s other hit film Oppam to release the film here in Telugu land. 

Apparently, they wish to take advantage of the actor’s current craze in AP and Telangana. They are planning to release Oppam in Telugu as Kanupapa on 30th December. Nonetheless, official confirmation is awaited on this.
