Rishab Shetty's Kantara was one of the biggest sleeper hits of Indian cinema last year. The film, made on a modest budget of 16 crore, went on to collect around 400 crore worldwide, placing its lead star and director Rishab Shetty on a pan-India map.

It is known that Rishab is working on second part. Now, we have an exciting update on this much-awaited Kannada biggie. Kantara 2 to kick start with Pooja on Nov 27th and regular shoot begins from December.

The film will be prequel of Kantara Part-1 & will be taken in Budget of 100+ crs. Rishab Shetty has done the script writing for Kantara 2 with lot of research & plot is set between 301-400 AD Time frame.

While the first part was shot in Shetty's hometown in Kundapura, Kantara 2 will prominently be shot in Mangalore. This location encompasses the required elements of jungle, land, and water as dictated by the script.

Makers intend to finish the shooting by the first quarter of next year, targeting its theatrical release in late 2024.
