Singer Chitra daughter Nandana died in a swimming pool accident in Dubai. Chitra's daughter death shock the everyone and the entire household was in tears. Chitra's family came back from Dubai yesterday and performed Nandana's funeral in the evening. According to Chitra’s manager Krishna Kutty Menon Chirta's family is in a state of shock and are unable to digest Chitra daughter Nandana death news. Chitra and her family were in Dubai to perform in A.R. Rahman’s musical show and were staying in a Villa when the accident took place.

Nandana, who was born to Chitra and Vijayashankar in 2002, 15 years after their marriage, is a differently-abled child, fell into the pool while playing. Chitra named he daughter as Nandana after she received an award by the Kerala government for her song n the Malayalam movie ‘Nandanam’. Several Telugu and Tamil movie celebrities like S.P. Bala Subramaniam, P. Susheela, Janaki, Mano, etc dropped at Chitra's residence and paid condolences.
