After the enormous success of the social drama 'ET,' actor Suriya announced on Monday, March 28 that he has began filming on his upcoming film, with the working title #Suriya41. Suriya is reuniting with acclaimed director Bala for his latest project, 18 years after their first collaboration, 'Pithamagan.'

Taking to his social media handles, Suriya shared a couple of pictures and wrote, "Been waiting for #directorbala na my mentor to say Action!!! …After 18 years, it’s happiness today…! This moment… we need all your wishes! #suriya41". The first photo was an announcement poster showing the actor and the filmmaker's faces and in the next picture, the duo can be seen smiling towards each other.

Meanwhile, the actor and his wife Jyotika's production company, 2D Entertainment, revealed on their official social media handles that the female lead will be Krithi Shetty, and that the film's music will be composed by G. V Prakash Kumar, who previously collaborated with Suriya on the 2020 hit film 'Soorarai Pottru.' The makers also revealed that famed cinematographer Balasubramaniem Kathiresan will work as the film's cinematographer. The title of Suriya 41 is yet to be revealed.

The Jai Bhim actor is expected to play two roles in the film. While one of his characters will be a regular commoner, the other is likely to be deaf and dumb. Another rumour circulating about the project is that he will portray a fisherman in the film 

Suriya, on the other hand, is now filming Vaadivaasal with director Vetri Maaran. It appears that the star will be filming for both films at the same time. Vaadivaasal depicts the relationship of a Jalikattu Kalai, commonly known as the fighting bull, and a simple villager.
