30 Years Prudhvi, after becoming a popular actor turned into a politician, and joined YSRCP. But he shifted his parties after he got banished from YSRCP due to a scam. He has been making sarcastic comments and statements against his old party every now and then. His comments at Laila pre-release event became more prominent, recently. 

YSRCP followers and social media wing took offense to his comments and they started trending #BoycottLaila on X and other platforms. Prudhvi clarified that he did not comment against YSRCP but the trend continued to against the film and him, as well. Vishwak Sen, the leading actor and Sahu Garapati, the producer of the film did issue their apology but still the trending did not subside. 

So, now, Prudhvi decided to release an open apology. He released a video stating that he did not make those comments targeting anyone. He clarified that he does not have hatred towards anyone either. He remarked that he is apologising so that the film, Laila should not be affected. 

He asked people to support Laila and not Boycott it. The movie is releasing on 14th February but the advance bookings have not been as high as the makers anticipated. This controversy did put the film in news still, it needs favorable word of mouth to become a box office success.
