US embassy expressed regrets for deportation of 14 Indian students and asserted it will look into this matter. In its latest press release on Thursday US embassy has stated “We are aware of reports about some Indian students bound for two California schools were denied entry by Customs and Border Protection. We regret for it. We are aware that it may leave some impact on the students and their families. We are communicating with the Department of Homeland Security and the Government of India as well. We are quite hopeful to resolve this issue very shortly.”
US Customs and Border Protection officials detained and grilled 14 Indian students who secured admissions in Silicon Valley University (SVU) in San Jose and Northwestern Polytechnic in Fremont. Later they were denied entry into the country and sent back to home. Another batch of 19 students, who are ready to leave for the US have been asked to postpone their journey plans in this context. US embassy responded after India has strongly taken up this matter with the US.
