Lakshmikanth is new CM of Goa

 

Lakshmikanth Parsekar, who until served as health minister in Manohar Parrikar cabinet in Goa state government has been elected as the new Chief Minister of Goa. BJP central observer Rajiv Prathap Rudy announced that BJP Parliamentary Board has approved his appointment.

 

Deputy CM Francis D’ Souza, revolts against the party demanding CM Post to self, but has was cooled down by the party central observer Rudy. He supported Lakshmikanth’s name proposed by the outgoing CM Manohar Parrikar.

 

Lakshmikanth has been serving BJP from a longtime and never changed the party. He was holding health, rural development and Panchayitiraj portfolios in Parrikar’s cabinet and now becomes the Chief Minister of Goa.

 

Parrikar has resigned to his post today thus enabling Lakshmikanth’s appointment to his post. Parrikar will take oath as Union Minister in Modi’s cabinet tomorrow. He is likely to be given Defense portfolio.
