Khairatabad the upscale Constituency

The Khairatabad Constituency which consists of the upscale Banjara Hills , Jubilee Hills, Punjagutta, Somajiguda and Film Nager areas is also home to major slums which have a sizable voter population .Looking at the statistics of the 2009 elections where only half of the voters turned up to vote , we need to see what is the fate in the 2014 elections. Danam, Nagender who is the sitting Congress MLA and former Labour Minister won the last elections has a tough competition in the form of P. Vijaya Reddy of YSRC who is trying to en cash on the goodwill and legacy of her father and popular Congress leader, late P. Janardhan Reddy. P Janardhan Reddy was a very popular leader and had developed a good base in the core Khairathabad region, but since his death there has been no substantial development that she can claim to have been done in the slum areas.

Apart from that her brother Vishnuvardhan Reddy is a sitting Congress MLA from Jubiliee Hills constituency and this change in Party from the same family could also affect her chances.With Sharmila campaigning in the major areas of Khairatabad might boost her chances of getting some votes. Chinthala Ramachandra Reddy is the BJP contender who will flash the Modi card among the educated masses. But will that fetch votes is what we need to see.
